It takes a LOT OF PRACTICE. There are some excellent how-to books on playing arpeggios… they are cheap, so you may consider BUYING one.

Basically, it comes down to just HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW YOUR TRIADS? and, just how good is your picking? because you need to be able to pick individual notes.

When you play arpeggios, you need to know HOW chords are formed… because when you play an arpeggio you have to play a chord, IN ORDER… If you hold a C chord and play it, one note at a time, you are not playing an arpeggio, because the C chord is you are playing is C,E,C.. and for an arpeggio you need to play C,E,G. ONE NOTE AT A TIME.

Like I said… there are some good books on playing arpeggios… and you need to BUY one, because when you start playing arpeggios, you are actually PLAYING a guitar and not just strumming.
